The light gets very bright and efficient both in urban areas and (why I bought them) for long hours on farmland when the sun goes down. If it were based on brightness alone, this light would be outstanding. However, battery life is unreliable and inconsistent. The indicator light can show that it is green (fully charged), but it can only last 20 minutes. Sometimes the red light stays on for an hour, sometimes the battery is empty in less than half an hour. The promised battery life is nonsense. Charging is also inconsistent and the charging port is one of the most annoying I've seen. The taillight is ok, but the mounting system sucks. All in all, it's like many (pretty good) Chinese products. It's 800 lumens, but it won't last as long or be as reliable as a reputable brand, but for the money it's probably better than the 400 lumen equivalent. You just have to know what you're getting and it's very, very decent.
