Review on Farberware Classic Waiters Corkscrew: The Ultimate Tool for Effortless Wine Opening by Heather Wood

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Don't waste your money on this cheap useless product!

I've read all the reviews of each corkscrew and I've come to the conclusion that most of these people don't have enough experience opening wine bottles and corkscrews to give their opinion. I'm sorry but I could have said that before deciding on one so I was really scared to order it. The fact is I now live in a small college town and can't find it in any of the local stores. I drink wine at least a few times a week and have a lot of corkscrews. My arthritis means I can't use anything other than the winged type, but I'm not sure why anyone would want to fight cork with anything else. I chose this one because I thought Farberware should be a trusted brand, which sucks. The end of the cork is on the side so it doesn't go straight into the cork but starts to pierce it diagonally. Then when you turn it, instead of a smooth, quiet spin, it squeaks like cheap metal. After all this you have to pull and twist to get the cork out. This is complete crap. I would send it back but I threw away the whole package.
