In my job as in-house counsel, I use notebooks to keep a record of what is said in my daily meetings and phone calls. I go through a number of these kinds of notebooks each year and have ordered several different varieties. This two-pack from JoyNote is recommended for several reasons. Though the cover is faux leather, that detail makes no difference to me, as this material looks respectable and is plenty sturdy. The width of the pages is slightly greater than other notebooks I've purchased, which makes a difference in how much text you can squeeze into each page. The paper is thick enough to prevent bleed-through, with a date heading on each page to remind me to fill in that critical piece of information. The two ribbons for marking pages and elastic band to keep the book closed also come in handy. There's a convenient elastic band on the spine for use as a pen holder, though this one is extremely tight and requires some effort to work my pen into place.
