The 2009 Vulcan 500C rider is here. We've had a string of very hot and muggy days here in North Carolina combined with really heavy rains and even under my heavy duty outer cover the little ball joint holding one of my original mirrors failed leaving my mirror shattered on the ground but held up rod, ha! Kawa brand mirror assemblies are $55-60 each, so I figured it would be a good choice to try them for $17 including tax (when I got them). And indeed, "solid" is the best way to describe them. Build quality won't be like your OEM, be it sturdy or beautiful, sophisticated or easy to customize, etc. For example, the material didn't feel cheap in my hand, but compared to the stock from the OEM, I did notice a difference; The OEM just felt heavier and the chrome looked a little better. My range of motion to adjust on my OEM is much greater where I can move up and down, side to side and at an angle. For this type, measure twice and tighten both nuts once as accurately as possible. They get a little left and drive adjustments, but any ups and downs just aren't that noticeable. The mirror itself is nice and comes with a rubber strap around it for a sleek look and probably to dampen vibrations. At less than 1/3 the OEM price, there really isn't much to complain about. Happy driving and keep the rubber side down!
