I did A LOT of research before buying. I looked at filters of all kinds and decided to go with them for several reasons. 1) I didn't want to spend a lot of money on replacement filters. Any other water filter will keep you paying for expensive replacement filters forever, and it's not good for the environment to fill the landfill with it anyway. 2) It's easy to maintain - easier than even changing the filter. Just put a bucket under the flush valve and it's clean in just a second. no sweat I did this several times and the sediment came off immediately. Pretty slick 3) Installation was a breeze. The 1" model is the PVC Slip X Slip. So just a regular solder joint. 4) The main thing is that it works. I have a #100 screen and luckily that's enough to remove most of the sediment. I was hoping not to have to put a taller strainer - as that would restrict the flow somewhat - and with well water the pressure isn't that high anyway Note that - you can buy any filter and replace later if that's what you have , wasn't good enough 5) Made in the USA I'll update later if there's anything interesting to comment on, but I'm not sure I'll come up with anything else of interest Great product at a reasonable price.
