Review on ๐Ÿ“ธ Fotga DH-55D: Panoramic Rotator Ball Head for Camera Tripods โ€“ Perfect for Capturing Stunning Panoramas by Trisha Green

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Buy American - Camera & Photo

This head should make an audible click when rotated through selected angles. The item I received does not make any noise even when it is put to your ear. This is an obviously serious error which is why I am returning the product. In addition, the locking cable is so tight that the selector knob can only be screwed in with great difficulty. As other reviews rate this product highly, I can only assume I received a defective copy. Another small problem is that the kit does not come with instructions. Given that this is a fairly basic device, this isn't a big deal, but at least there should be some instructions on how to contact support. Hmmm, as far as I can tell there is NO customer service. There is a Facebook page, but it's totally inadequate for solving customer problems. Warning: These cheap China products are usually not worth the time and degradation it causes. Okay, the above was my previous review (which I rated 1 star) and still worth it, but here's an update. Firstly, FOTGA accepted the return very quickly and with no problems. After thinking about this issue for a while, I finally figured out what was going on. This head has a huge and very stupid design flaw. Once I figured it out and how to fix it, the head became (somewhat) usable. After fixing the fatal flaw I sprayed the whole thing with a lithium based lube and eventually got it to move pretty smoothly which made it a lot better so I'll actually leave it as is. So I changed my rating to 3 stars. Why 3? Because the buyer doesn't have to diagnose and fix any design flaws in the products they buy, and that's no good even after fixing them.
