I discovered this caliper today delighted by the reviews. to close the battery compartment. There is almost no real lock, the lid protrudes a few millimeters over the body, even removing the rubber seal doesn't help, there is no click to indicate that the battery is locked. This is a big problem as it isn't dustproof and the battery tends to get out of the bay all the time, causing the digital display screen to turn off. I am VERY skeptical that this is a real test sheet because if tested as advertised it would be obvious to the tester that the battery compartment is bad. I will be returning this item (probably at my own expense) for a replacement and will update my review to include a working replacement.
