This saved me a lot of clutter in our house this winter. Lightweight, holds up well. The only problem I have is the size for my dog. German Shepherds have a barrel-shaped chest, long body, and thin waist. I had to buy an XXL for my 70lb GSD and it fits well except the single strap that wraps around the waist is too long and doesn't have enough velcro to secure it. Now they only go to the yard so I attached the velcro on the strap to a small piece of velcro on the "pocket" on the back. That makes it a bit crooked, but it works. I'll have to come up with another solution if we go for a walk. Be sure to consider the length of your dog. The hood doesn't fit all the way over the head, but keeps the neck dry and therefore hangs down the sides and back, and doesn't get your stomach wet underneath.
