The shelf life is only 6 months and I only wear them at home.
I liked this particular pair of sketchers so much I decided to buy a second pair. We take off our street shoes in front of the front door to keep the carpets clean. I bought the second pair for home use only. I'm 78 years old and as we live in a one story house they get really little use. The heel pad is worn all the way back and has exposed a hard piece of plastic making them very uncomfortable. It's strange because the same pair I use daily for outdoor activities is two years old and doesn't have this problem. It's a shame!
