I bought this product for two of my Cumberland Sliders. With the return to school and back to the grind of everyday life, I was afraid that we would forget to feed the turtles. One of them would nibble on it now and then, but every time I offered it, they preferred their regular food. I suppose it would be nice to feed the turtles while you're gone, but I'd try to do it ahead of time to make sure they eat it before they leave. I will definitely use them again. They lasted about a week on my two young Cumberland Creepers. hope that helps
