Review on πŸ“Ί Kanto FMX2 Full Motion Mount: Ideal TV Wall Mount for 37-inch to 80-inch TVs by Michael Custodio

High quality and versatility

I ordered this mount because of its good price and ability to hold a custom TV. This is a 65 inch Panasonic plasma with a wide VESA pattern and a HEAVY weight of 95 lbs. I also wanted to be able to bend down, reach out of the wall and turn left or right. Arrived quickly and double boxed. I watched the installation video and read the instructions carefully before doing anything. A Few Tips-1. I attached it to wooden studs. Some mentioned using other bolts which they felt were stronger. The screws that come with it are good. The trick is to use a drill bit about the size of the center portion of the lag screw (unthreaded) to drill through the bolt. If you get it right, the hole drilled should be about 1/4" to 1/8" smaller than the screw (threads included). With a 17mm socket you can put them all in and won't break the bolts or struggle with them as much.2. Measure and check the drill marks 3-4 times before drilling to ensure they are centered and aligned on the studs. Don't think the pattern is even. Mine was, but others have mentioned they weren't.3. Use the supplied template, which tapes to the wall, and mask off the template holes you drill with masking tape - this will help prevent messes, and the template will also catch most of it for you. When attaching the bracket to the wall, a second pair of hands will help a lot because the item is heavy.4. There are recessed holes on the back of my TV that Kanto sends spacers for. My holes were about 2mm deep and didn't match spacers. I called Canto and they said it was ok to skip them - very helpful and a real person answered the call quickly. Check the back of your TV before mounting it to make sure all of your entrances are not covered by the mount. The location of my power cord was barely covered and I had to pull out the extra cord to plug it in.

Pros
  • Extends out of the wall from 3.5" to 19.3"
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
