I have gas! fits switches and relays

I found out that the transmitter on my 2008 Sea Hunt has failed because the float is no longer floating (the actual transmitter is working properly). I've tried contacting WEMA/KUS for a replacement because I think it's silly to buy the whole transmitter when just a $2 float fails. Obviously the swimmer is saturated and eventually stops swimming in the gas. IMHO this is an unacceptable product quality, especially as my boat is 14 years old which is pretty young for boating years. Well, shock, KUS doesn't replace a float (it's impossible to replace just a float upon closer inspection) or a block, which is why I came to Revain for this replacement. My tank is 11" deep and has a 9" gauge. The. As a replacement, I went with a 9.5" transmitter, which still leaves more than the recommended 1" space underneath. I felt like it would give me a little more accurate reading. As others have said anything below 1/4 tank of gas on a boat should be considered empty. You will likely need to splice the wires to use the factory harnesses. Be sure to use marine grade waterproof connectors with heat shrink tubing. I used 14-16 gauge connectors. As with most things on a boat, don't skimp on this part because you don't want a bad electrical connection below deck around the gas tank and water/moisture! For extra protection I wrapped the connectors with tape. The blue wire on the transmitter is grounded for those who don't like directions. I even tested it before installing it by manually moving the float and saw the sensor move as smooth as silk. This unit comes with 5 screws, but I used my original screws as the threads don't match. This product works as it should and I hope it will last at least 10 years. Will post an update if I run into any problems.
