This product was originally great. It was pretty easy to set up through HomeKit, and once set up it stayed connected to HomeKit. Adding some automation was easy if you've used HomeKit, and I've done so for various scenarios. Everything was fine, maybe 2 weeks. Then we started having an incredibly annoying problem. Both outlets (each outlet has a pair of outlets, but when I say "socket" I mean an arrangement of 2 outlets) started turning off and then immediately turning back on. We've connected lamps to it, which seems to be the most common use case. At night, all other lights in the kitchen and living room are turned off, except for those plugged into the outlet. About every half hour, the outlet turns off and then on again. Sometimes every 15 minutes. There's really no rhyme or reason for when it turns off and on again. I was able to figure out what was going on by looking at the status lights on the outlets, and the outlets appear to be losing wifi connection, which I believe turns the outlet off but immediately turns it back on. This is interesting because an outlet is less than 10 feet from the router. The other outlet is upstairs at the front of the house and I could see there were connection issues, but both have the same issue. I downloaded the Meross app to see if there is a firmware update - the update is not available and current. (4.1.4/hardware version 4.0.0). In the Meross app, the outlet closest to the router has 100 percent Wi-Fi signal, while the dot at the top has 75 percent Wi-Fi signal. I have no idea what the solution is. I did a hard reset as per their user guide, bought a different set of sockets to see if it's just the ones I had (Spoiler alert: they weren't. The new ones have the same issues) and even swapped places for everyone. Power outlet. Unfortunately, from what I can find online, none of the other HomeKit compatible smart plugs are better. Such a great idea and just absolutely bad execution. I will return what I bought and wait to see if something with greater reliability comes out.
