Review on 🐠 Aqueon 20 Gallon High Fish Tank Starter Kit with LED Lighting for Aquarium by Michelle Rogers

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nice armor set. Here are some tips on what you need

Good price. I bought 20 liters. I couldn't find what size filter pads to buy. Turns out you need media with this set. Go ahead and order something when you buy a kit. You'll get through them pretty quickly over the course of a couple of weeks while your tank is running. Shows off a lot of silicone but isn't distracting at all. The pump is quiet and efficient enough. I also use the Aqueon 15 for the power it produces and my two 5 1/2 inch orands are ammonia and non-ammonia makers. Get "safe" in marine chemistry labs when you're about to capture ammonia and nitrite in a non-toxic form while the tank is running. They don't bother telling you not to clean the biofilter. If at any point in the history of this or any tank you need to flush it, simply stir the water in the tank gently and do not use soap or tap water. You also need beneficial bacteria to regenerate your aquarium. Love the powder and "Aqua Med's 'Aqua medZYme' DC or Aquascape's Beneficial Bacteria are good choices. If you're buying pond water, you're getting a lot for your buck. You may need a small scale to measure grams of these powders with You will also need a water test kit and some bottom stones.I used pottery I made myself for the decoration but you may want to invest in a few pieces for aesthetics and a place for small fish to perch hide. You can't beat beets for quality fish food. Easy to make and so good for your aquatic friends. Buy artificial plants and a paper clip with seaweed as most fish are omnivores. Oh and invest in one of those little suction cup thermometers The one that came with this setup was unreadable I think I just got a bad one but thermometers are cheap you might want si e a stand designed for a 20 gallon tank. I bought one from petco and it was cheap and easy to assemble. Rejoice, have fun.

Pros
  • Just add your favorite plants and decoration (sold separately)
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
