The reviews here were pretty mixed so I decided to try this product myself after seeing it on our list of the best curly hair products of 2020. I have larger curls and very thick hair that tends to frizz so I can't confirm any other hair type but hopefully this will help some curly people. I've been pushing for curly bangs recently (maybe out of quarantine boredom?) and I don't know how long I'll be wearing them, but I've had to change my lifestyle so they don't look crazy all the time. Here's how I do it now: On shampoo days, I wash my hair with shampoo + conditioner with COLD water. If you have curly hair and still use hot water to wash your hair - STOP NOW. Lol, only drink cold water. Then, after rinsing out the conditioner, I use a MICROFIBRE towel. Gently squeeze as much water out of your hair as possible. Then, while the hair is still damp but mostly towel dried to avoid drips, I spritz Davine's All In One Milk all over the hair, making sure to get it under the layers (I have very thick hair). I do about 10-15 sprays as recommended, sometimes more. I can see that fine hair can get greasy pretty quickly, so remember that a little bit goes a long way. The texture is really milky. But if you have thick hair like me, just go for it. The hair is not greasy at all. I then comb my damp hair with a wide tooth comb and finally flip it over to curl it with my hands. Unfortunately, this isn't the ONLY product I use. So if you're looking for an all-round wonder product, it really doesn't work for me. That's why I did it 4 times instead of 5 times. I then use a scoop of mousse (I use Goldwell) and a small amount of R+Co Flexible Motorcycle Gel, which I spread evenly on all hands and rub gently. just to tame the fluffiness. The first day I tried Davines, as an experiment I ONLY used it after a shower and it didn't help, it was soft as hell but still very frizzy. I still have to use other products to get the beautiful, soft, frizz-free curls I really want. But I think since Davines my hair is "prepared" for other products and helps retain moisture. I'm on my 3rd day of washing and my curls are mostly intact and my hair is incredibly soft! On no-wash days, I use a little lathering dry shampoo, then spritz with water from a spray bottle to reshape my curls. I've found that a few Davines sprays really help set curls back into shape without having to wash your hair again. (the distress of bruised curls) and Davines helps straighten my hair these days, but I still need some mousse. (Also, I live in a fairly humid climate on the east coast, so if you live in the western US you may not have this problem!) Anyway, this is the most detailed description I could write since the reviews here don't work help me I hope this helps someone! Yes, and a lot of people complain about the smell, I really like it. It's kind of earthy, floral and maybe even a little bit masculine, maybe because the scent is so strong. Although I really like the smell. But overall, this product provides my hair with moisture and natural softness without the crispiness of some other curling products!
