The style of this shoe is nice and the quality of the leather is pretty good. But leather is leather, whether you spend $20 or $500, it breaks easily and is difficult to maintain. This shoe fits as expected, I'm usually a 9-10, I liked the length 9 better but I also bought a 9.5 and ended up keeping it because of the width. They are definitely a little tight, especially at the toe end. So if you have a wide or voluminous foot, go up a half size and try them on, but they may not fit you. My 2 complaints that they lost 2 stars - behind the ankles at the top of the back of the shoe it's very stiff which is good for quality but bad for comfort. Also, the bottom of this shoe is so slippery that I wore it around town in rainy weather. and I had to slow down in the tiled subway area because I couldn't help but slip. So if for a few bucks you want to add ankle padding and put a rubber outsole on top of the outsole for traction, this is a beautifully designed shoe to wear with jeans, pants or a suit.
