This adapter is well made and overall fairly easy to install. Of course, unplugging the power cable from the battery is tedious, but it can be done without a hoist. I was able to crawl under the car and attach the power cord to the existing bracket and then reattach the panel to protect that area. I used Uhaul's video and it shows the entire installation. They use an upgraded battery cable, but it's pretty clear how to use the cable that comes with this kit. I was able to install it in about an hour. I leave it in the car under the trunk mat, just unplug and plug in, then wire up the trunk when in use. You can also install it outside the car, but then you need to take care of the cleanliness of the connection. As little as we use it, I'd rather keep it out of the elements until needed. The trunk will not damage the wires when closed.
