When I originally got this I obviously had to try it on our 3 TVs in the house. I've tried this on our (around 12 year old) Sony Bravia and newer (bought early 2018) Vizio both turned off assuming there was only an on/off signal. The remote switched between signals and both TVs stayed off. In fact, he turned off the even older television, and the next time he pressed the button, he turned it back on. to switch on and off. I turned on both Sony and Vizio with their respective remotes, and indeed, TV-B-Gone turned them off almost immediately. Now 1.000 instead of 0.333! I will be subtly experimenting with this remote in the future and no longer assume it will also turn on TVs. All the better, because my goal is to avoid the omnipresent booming idiot boxes as much as possible, not to turn them on again!
