It's a great lens for taking pictures of distant subjects. Everything you need to get started right out of the box is included. Pictures of people, animals, or flowers work wonderfully. Some drawbacks: I rely on it heavily. It's possible that an expert might spot certain problems. I haven't picked up on that as a rookie.
