Just a few days ago, 1 year and 1 day after the purchase, to be precise, I would have given it a high 4 stars. He did an excellent job, working to clean the bowl to the point where "scraping" the sides of the bowl was almost out of the question. I liked this for making dough and pre-kneading bread dough before moving on to kneading the bread hook. But when kneading dough for potato bread, the shank broke. It wasn't a particularly heavy dough, and it wasn't a large batch. I've made the same conditions for the same recipe dozens of times, as I said, there's nowhere near the heaviest or toughest dough this mixer has handled back in the day. A real shame, I liked this device but when the lifespan is 1 year it's not worth $25/year. I think it's a return to the original metal and cleaning process.
