Review on ๐ŸŒ€ ALSEYE CPU Cooler: 90mm RGB Fan, 6 Heatpipes, Easy Installation โ€“ Ultimate Intel & AMD Motherboard Cooling Solution! by Matt Abba

inexpensive, maybe too.

I just installed this cooler. And I had to spend hours adjusting the fan curves. The fans cannot be held responsible for the noise I experience. I believe that the cooler itself generates harmonics. It's a powerful cooler, but the fan speed is around 40% and the whistling storm winds it generates get pretty annoying. Again, it's not fan noise, it's the reed effect of the air moving around the ultra-thin fins. I'd like to keep this cooler as is on a HTPC build that's also a solid gaming rig with a Ryzen 5900x, but due to height limitations, this seems like the most powerful cooler my case can support. I'm using a Silverstone GD09 case, which really only has room for coolers that are around 140mm high. Mounting the cooler on the motherboard is a little painful, but not bad. I had to remove the GPU. The previous cooler was the BeQuiet BK008, which I'll probably go back to depending on my ability to dampen those overtones. EDIT: I replaced the factory fans with Bequiet on this cooler! Pure Wings 2 92mm PWM fan. It was the fans. I am very satisfied with the performance and volume. I hate to suggest this to anyone who's 6-7" tall for a cooler, but if like me you're only about 5.5" tall, this would be a great combo.
