I bought this to use my overheated laptop in bed and it works great for that purpose. I needed an adjustable fan stand and this works great! Build quality is decent, but I'll admit "cheap" was my first reaction. Plastic parts are cheap, the hinges creak when you move the stand, the metal is rough in places. The fan does not spin very smoothly. The legs have multiple degrees of play, so they feel loose and wobbly until the stand is placed on a surface with the laptop on it. Even then, it wobbles a bit from side to side. The surface of the laptop is not entirely flat, with a slight difference in height at the center seam. It's not a bad product, but it definitely looks like it was built with cost-efficiency in mind. For the price I don't mind as it's pretty sturdy but I'm wondering how long it will last. The fan is my favorite addition as it is large, quiet and moves a lot of air. Being able to move it around for optimal cooling is great! I wish there was some sort of cable hook to keep the USB cable from hanging around the back, but that's a small, easy-to-fix issue (sticky hooks). My only real complaint about it is that there are no vents on the right, which should have been an easy task. Each joint is adjustable in 15° increments. Customizing can be frustrating as there are 6 of them (3 on each side). It's fairly easy to adjust the legs and find that a joint is slightly offset, or adjust the height and find that it's not quite right and have to do it again, or find a new combination of leg angles. Flexibility is actually pretty good though, and with so many joints, it's a good compromise. Play in the joints means that the tray is not at a 90° angle. This is a great stand with a decent design despite the cheap looks. It works well and I used it almost every day.
