Lutron branded electrical products are some of the best electrical products on the market today. more so than Cooper, whose quality has plummeted in recent years. I'm a mechanic and have replaced many electrical switches. While this is a quality switch, it may not be the best. The switch is designed to allow the user to control fan speed and light brightness with two small sliders on either side of the switch. The toggle switch turns the two sliders on or off. The size of the sliders can be an issue for some people. it was for the elderly couple i installed it for. they had a hard time seeing the tiny sliders. Finally, this switch should only be used to control 1 fan (rated 1.5A and starting motor with capacitor) and 1 incandescent lamp (no fluorescent lamps. Maximum power 300 watts). You should not connect two fans to each switch, as this will ultimately cause the switch to malfunction. So the electrician/person installed the original switch that I replaced and it failed.
