This product works great after I learned how to use it properly. Simply place the metal part of the needle under the stitch you want to remove and advance it as far as possible until the thread touches the red tip. I made the mistake of removing a seam with just a metal point and had a rough time, injuring my fingers in the process. Within 5 minutes of using this method, I learned how to properly use a seam ripper and was able to remove the remaining unnecessary seams almost immediately. An additional measuring tape is also a good addition.
