Write this review after 5 months of ownership. I was a little hesitant to spend that kind of money on my first espresso machine, but eventually decided to go broke. I compared it to the Barista Express and chose it for a number of reasons: - Improved heating elements compared to the previous generation machine (much faster) - 2 year warranty vs 1 year (a bit of convenience for such a large investment) - More flexibility in the grinder. Settings with more increments and tweaks - not much more expensive for the added benefits ($100 extra). Overall it's pretty easy to use. I'm not too crazy with my coffee so after choosing what I like I left it like that. The nice thing is that you can customize the duration of your shots (I increased mine a bit) and have great precision for your grind settings. My favorite part of the machine is how quickly it vaporizes and heats up. My brother has an older Barista Infuser and you have to wait a decent amount of time for it to switch to vaping after one shot. The Barista Pro really only has 4-5 seconds to steam after a shot. Pretty good for those who don't have much time to bother with making coffee in the morning. Probably a worthwhile purchase if you're sure you'll get enough benefit from it. In times of working from home due to Covid-19 this was a great addition to my usual routine as opposed to boring filter coffee. I'm sure when the world normalizes a bit, I'll brew coffee with it and take it with me every morning. No complaints yet, but if anything serious comes up I'll post some updates in this review.
