Review on Black Master Lock 72DPF Steel Cable – Loop Ends, 1 Pack – Enhanced SEO by Evan Austin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I have a pretty expensive bike.

One thing to note, this is not for dark areas and certainly not for night areas. This is for locking the bike when you want to go shopping or go to the toilet. Better than nothing . so true. As for me, I don't think I can carry enough locks in my bag to be 100% comfortable. So I insured my bike. peace of mind. Personally I use mine when I'm camping at campgrounds in state or federal parks, I wrap it around/under one of the tires. Then thread it through the frame and attach the seat. It's just peace of mind. Nine times out of ten, no one is walking around with bolt cutters to take the bike to the campsite. Pros, they seem heavy, the cables have nice thick rubber so they don't scratch or rust your bike, the loops are wide enough for the ends to pass through. it is 15 feet. relatively cheap and easy to transport. long enough to attach both tires, the seat and everything to a non-removable object tree etc. etc. leaving room! Cons, not secure like U-Lock, quite heavy. Is it better than U-Lock? Absolutely not! However, you really need to think about where you CAN use a U-Bolt lock. If there are no bike racks, the U-bracket is useless. You need to access your risks. How sketchy is the area where you lock your bike. How long do you lock your bike? If you are an "EVERY DAY" biker who has a routine like work. Where you always lock your bike every day from Monday to Friday for 8 hours a day. Or go shopping for hours. or leave it in a public garage overnight. Then yes! Get the U-BOLT lock! As for me, I travel to different places and I don't have a routine. I also don't leave my bike for hours (unattended). So, I think this lock is good enough for me! ANY lock can be picked, it just makes the bike thief a little harder. and let's face it. If the thief wants your bike, he gets it! i hate to say it If your bike is worth more than $2,500, consider getting anti-theft insurance. I lock mine with an A-Bus 701B all-weather padlock. Get a decent lock, the last thing you want is a lock that freezes and you have to leave your bike to find a way to pick your own lock! Buy some lube for your locks and clean them often to keep them working well. Get a security lock, especially if your bike doesn't have fenders! Also remember not to buy a huge heavy padlock so you can lock it on an easily cut cord. So almost any lock is enough. like a thief who doesn't go for the weakest link. Buying an $80 lock instead of a cable lock doesn't make it any more secure.
