Unreal how awesome this thing is. First, let me address some of the negative comments I've read before I decide to risk this oven: YES, the outer metal gets hot, VERY hot. Most kitchen items do, so I don't really get the point. The bottom part will NOT get hot enough to damage the countertop. The control panel is attached with four Allen screws. He is NOT going. I have never noticed a bad smell coming from the oven. And now a word of praise: the timer works perfectly. I can't wait to try the probe on chicken breast and pork loin. Unlike two multi-cookers, nothing burned the sides of the ceramic pot after eight hours of cooking on LOW. My only criticism is that it would be really nice if the glass lid clips were attached to the ceramic pot instead of the stove top. So I could just put the lid on the pot and stick it in the fridge. In no way a violation of the terms of the contract. This stove will significantly reduce our electricity bill. Almost every dish I cook in the oven can be made in Set it and Forget It. Update April 15, 2018: We've cooked in this pot about a dozen times and we're loving it more and more. Basically we cook with a temperature sensor and the meat comes out perfect every time. We can only praise this instrument.
