Review on LEECRAFT RIDGID R4512 Zero Clearance Insert by David Foster

I really like this gapless insert. It fits snugly in the hole in the needle plate and doesn't dangle. My only complaint and the reason it got 4 stars instead of 5 is that the face for the riving knife is not wide enough. My riving knife wants to grab the plate and lift it up when I lift the blade. I need to widen the slot for the riving knife so it doesn't get stuck. It doesn't matter though, as you can just lower the saw blade before turning the saw on, and as long as you don't lower the saw blade all the way while you work, you'll be fine all day. . However, this problem means that you should not install the riving knife when cutting the zero gap insert for the first time.
