From the whole coin to the mintmark

I would like to see the whole coin. You just hold it up and turn the center knob on the display to focus. You can then flip the coin to check the mintmark details etc. while studying type coins. The closer you get to the coin, the greater the magnification. So if you only want to see the mint mark on screen, you can frame it so you can see from the smallest details like the mint mark to the entire coin. The only downside: the USB connector was misaligned, which made it very difficult to insert the charging connector, but I managed it with a lot of effort. I hope it gets easier with age. I'm afraid that one day it will break while trying to install it. This update: I didn't unplug the USB from the device as it was very difficult to plug in, I didn't want to. Try again and the cable doesn't bother me. But this stereo microscope (unlike the ones used to examine blood on glass slides etc, it's a compound microscope so you need to know which one you need) is the best coin collecting tool I've ever bought. A stereo microscope, also called a dissecting microscope, is used for objects that are only illuminated from above, hard objects such as coins. At the age of 60, using this microscope makes the hobby a pleasure again. I bet I've spent more time exploring and enjoying my collection with this scope over the past few days than I've ever built. There was an ice/snow storm outside with record temperatures so I spent all my time using this scope. Before I got this scope, I would look at my coins, maybe even use a magnifying glass, and then pick them up. Now I can see every little detail of every coin. It has always been difficult to tell the difference between coin types with a magnifying glass. With this stereo microscope they are easy to distinguish. And I've found some flaws on the coins that I hadn't seen before, like a half missing S on one of my coins where it's obvious under the microscope that the press missed the bottom half of the S. And the coins are just nicer below that range. It is very easy to use, one button raises or lowers the scope, then a button on the front of the display adjusts the focus. In a dime it's easy to get all of the coins in the field, but for big coins like the dollar coin I found it useful to just pick them up off the stand and the higher you aim the more you get in the stand. I am sure that I will be using this scope for a very long time. Another benefit of this scope is its portability. Therefore, I believe that in my gardening endeavors I can take a look around the garden and study the leaves to determine what insects I am controlling so I can take the right steps to get rid of them. If you were an entomologist or aspiring entomologist I think you would find this scope very useful. Overall I think the scope is well made, easy to use, great for the purpose I bought it for (coin research) and I will be using it often for a long time to come. I would definitely recommend this scope to anyone who wants or needs a stereo/dissection microscope.
