If the lip catches on something, it will open but otherwise remain secure. This bag has slots for 2 pens and 2 mouse-sized items. 2 large storage compartments with zips offer plenty of space for a laptop, several tablets and lots of books or files. There's just enough padding for me to comfortably toss my backpack and laptop on the floor. Leather is slightly more water-repellent than a comparable synthetic backpack. CONS: Significantly heavier than a similar sized plastic backpack. . This could be a factor if you carry it around with you all day. - Dark tinted interior with camouflage pattern which can be difficult to locate in low light conditions. - External side pockets are narrow and inelastic.
