I loved that these colors were very close to my cabinets. They were in the form of paint to which I could add water and slowly add color to the raw wood without getting a dark stain of obvious retouching. With a few light washes I was able to retain the luster of the underlying wood while retaining the value of the existing veneer. I didn't need the brush that came with it. You get nothing with that. Spend $2 on a nice little art brush and you'll do much better (it cleans up easily with water). I used a small bowl to mix my colors with water and let the layers dry before adding more. Save and check your progress before adding more layers - these retouches will darken very quickly.
