This item does exactly what you expect - it cuts spam into perfect chunks. I read the negative reviews before buying and realized people were probably very rude about it. I press gently and take my time cutting spam. I do this so I don't put too much pressure on the wires. When I wash it, I put it on the top shelf very carefully. I guarantee it won't touch any prongs and nothing will be around. Today, after having owned the item for just over 2 months, one of the metal wires broke when I put it (very carefully) in the dishwasher. It has been used 10 times since purchase and it took too long to return to Revane. Since the purchase was about $9, it cost me $0.90 per use. I really wanted something like this, but the article should not fall apart so quickly with careful use.
