I have previously purchased and used a replacement VEVA air filter for the HPA300. This was the first time I bought the product and it worked as expected with no issues. I decided to buy the product again mid April 21st and the HEPA filters I received were of poor quality. Shortly after installing new filters and turning on the unit, the entire room was filled with chemical fumes. I remember reading user reviews over several days detailing smells and gases so this wasn't a total surprise even though my previous purchase didn't have this issue. I moved the air filter unit from my bedroom to another unused room and ran it 8 hours a day for the next 3 days and the smell hasn't decreased significantly. I then started the return process and opted for a replacement rather than a refund. The first thing I noticed was that the replacement air filters were not packaged properly for shipping and arrived in a thin gray plastic bag. The box was damaged resulting in a small dent on one side of the HEPA filters but the product was usable. The replacement is from the same warehouse so right off the bat I assume it won't be any better as it was probably made in the same batch as what I just returned. As expected, the replacement filter set had the same strong chemical smell, so I tried shutting it down in the same unused room for a while. After 24-27 days of daily use of 4-8 hours, the chemical odor is still around 25% of the original strength. The return period expired after a few days, so Revane no longer allows me to initiate a return. It's on me because I was supposed to send back a replacement a few weeks ago but kept the unit running and shut off the gas hoping that if I gave it a few more days it would get better. I am just very disappointed that a product with such a high rating and reviews can fail such basic quality control. An item I bought that was supposed to improve air quality ended up ruining the air it was supposed to improve, so I will not be buying any VEVA brand air filters for my HPA300 in the future.
