Swivel Head, Oil Filled, Ergonomic

The swivel head takes a bit of getting used to and it was awkward for me to draw a straight line along the straight end. Shortcuts less than 36 inches were easy enough to succeed. Long cuts could not be achieved. A carbide cutting wheel has a much more aggressive pitch than a general purpose wheel. Novice glaziers can press too hard and create chips. If you're cutting a thin mirror or glass you shouldn't have too much trouble. I suspect that material up to 3/16 will be cut without problems. Maybe even material up to 1/4 inch or maybe 5/16 with the right leverage and carpet table can be achieved. I doubt this cutter will reliably cut material. The oil reservoir is handy for beginners who might forget to dip before marking. Do not overfill with oil. Add just a few drops per cut. If you are planning multiple cuts, adding a few CCs is more than enough. To start the oil, add a few drops, then twist the cutting disc on your finger and move it back and forth 10-15 times. The oil will eventually appear on your thumb or finger. allows the user to change the downward force without increasing arm tension relaxation. Nice feature. All in all a good tool to have on hand. However, this is not a substitute for a quality cutter.

I'm scoring and snapping 6mm Bullseye and 1/2" float often. this works perfectly.
