According to the seller and on the packaging it 'recovers' after removing it from the vacuum bag. First, the entire rug is sealed in a very, very small package, smaller than a t-shirt. After the discovery, "he never recovered." There is no padding between the fluffy top layer and the non-slip backing, no padding at all. "Anti-slip" backing does not work at all. I have tile floors, it's not sealed porcelain tile so it's not slippery. This rug slipped EVERYWHERE. The non-stick dots will not stick to the surface and are virtually indistinguishable from ordinary fabric. For $16 it's a soft floor covering but not safe in high traffic areas as it slips and has no padding for tired/sore feet.
