Review on High-Definition Touchscreen Raspberry ROADOM: Responsive & Compatible 10.1" Display with Built-In Speakers by Dave Lyman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

dimensions I want

This purchase has been a huge disappointment to me for what I was hoping for and needing, but despite my personal unhappiness I cannot rate this product less than 5 stars in every category. This is a great little screen. I won't be returning it and will request it one day, but at least now I can see what all those 7 inch screens actually represent in the visual realm. The 7-inch diagonal doesn't tell us exactly how wide and tall it is. . I chose this model because of the given dimensions. Well, there is a trick(ery). Many people sell this screen by providing the screen dimensions (including bezels). Those that list large sizes state that they give you the overall height including the mounting tabs. I've been looking for weeks for someone who can take actual visual measurements and finally took a chance and bought one. I added these photos to help others. Images may be slightly distorted, but actual field of view dimensions are 6&1/16" x 3&3/8". The diagonal is really 6 and 15/16. To give an idea of the size I've uploaded a picture of my xfinity remote and I also know that this tape measure is a mini, not as wide as a regular tape measure. The last photo looks awful compared to what you see in person. This image is the best I've ever had to show color and although it's advertised at 1024x600 I'm set at 1920x1080. Didn't expect these adjustments. I've watched videos of it and am very impressed with what it can do. Just wow! Cons: Just a personal disappointment due to the lack of information for visual measurements. Pros: Image quality is top-notch. The sound is way better than I thought. My graphics card resolution allows me to get 1920 x 1080 when using it as it comes out of the box. I only use it as a monitor so all I need is USB Mini (for power) and HDMI. Raspberries are not needed here. Use it to build a C182 cockpit simulator. Works as a 1920x1080 monitor, videos, photos, programs, etc. for hours and hardly gets warm. 6.5"x 3" please let me know and I will name my first 11 kids after you!
