Review on High-Definition Touchscreen Raspberry ROADOM: Responsive & Compatible 10.1" Display with Built-In Speakers by Roderick Carson

Awesome screen, even more awesome with extra cables. Very important

This is a great little screen. After looking at several different panel options, I settled on 1024 x 600 instead of the official Pi screen (800 x 480). This display wasn't the cheapest, but it was good value and had great reviews. Some of the earlier reviews mentioned additional cables that were later sent in. The package I received included all the extra cables and they are great for providing a clean interface (power only) and cable management. I plugged everything in, turned it on, and finally (with a 10 minute troubleshooter, see below) got it working. Pi. Initially, the Raspberry Pi logo flashed on the display and the Pi booted up, but the display stayed black. I could see at the bottom of the display that the backlight is trying to turn on and according to the instructions (no signal on screen Q1) it recommends using the included power adapter. Of course, a separate power supply for the screen did the trick. A bit more tweaking, I now power the Pi with the included power supply and use the Pi to power the screen via the GPIO pins (and included header) and it works great. - I also had display flickering where it seemed like the resolution was having issues; after reconnecting the supplied HDMI flat cable to the display port, everything was clear and everything works great. There were a few comments that the included HDMI ribbon cable had to be twisted to connect to the Pi's HDMI output; I placed my plane on a 90 degree display board tucked under the Pi's HDMI port and it's clean and unobtrusive. - The Pi's display resolution is set to "Default - preferred monitor settings" in the settings, and using the touchscreen display menu (buttons on the back of the display) and the settings information, it displays 1360 x 768 at 60Hz, even better than advertised 1024x600 resolution - touchscreen was plug and play; I plugged the included connector into the display and the other end into one of the Pi's USB ports and it just worked. Other notes - the display stand is beautiful aluminum, not plastic. All in all a fantastic product, well thought out and put together, great price
