Big bag! - Outdoor Activities

As an avid hiker, I am very familiar with freeze-dried products like this one. I used to have quite a few different Mountain House dishes. Can't say I love them, but they're usually pretty decent for hiking. The MH biscuit and sauce bowl is one of our favorites in the MH line. The bottom line is that you have to let it sit a little longer so that the cookies can absorb enough moisture. The instructions are clear (and on the box). Follow them and in about 10-15 minutes you'll have a decent portable meal that you can leave in your bag and eat right out of the bag. However, this "classic" package actually contains THREE servings - usually two. I love that this bag comes with 3 servings - we split it (with zips) into three before we go camping. Another note about these MH biscuit and gravy dishes: They're not very healthy. I wouldn't say they're unhealthy foods, but they fall somewhere in between. I would definitely give them 5 stars if they were healthier. But then again, a few of these won't kill me hiking in a year!
