Review on ☕ Genuine Joe GJO11260PK Insulated Ripple Hot Cup, 12-Oz Capacity (25-Pack), Brown by Tonya Brown

No leaks, no odor The best of paper and plastic

I recently switched to Genuine Joe from Chinet (the only option in my local supermarket). These cups have not leaked onto my shirt yet, although when the lid is removed there is some coffee residue under the opening, suggesting a slow spill with no drips. One important thing to note about ANY disposable glass (be it Starbucks or GJ) is that if the lid is fitted so that the drinking opening is directly over the seam of the glass, leakage is guaranteed (since the seam is a conduit for the is glass). coffee to avoid closing the lid). These mugs have virtually no "cardboard smell" unlike other brands I've tried, which is important for coffee snobs like me. The lids also have very minimal "plastic smell" comparable to Solo lids (like Starbucks). The isolator is very effective. I pour straight from the French Press into a mug and let the coffee cool for 2 minutes before closing the lid. At this point the insulator is warm but not too hot. The cups are VERY difficult to remove from the stack. Based on my knowledge of physics, my hypothesis is that the pressure between the cups is below atmospheric pressure (near sea level); namely, the bottoms of the cups make an audible pop as they separate (as when going from concave to convex). Perhaps the factory is at a moderate elevation, or they use pressure to compress the stacks as much as possible. This is a minor annoyance (it took me 2 minutes to split the stack after delivery), but it's certainly an area where some improvement could be made. All in all a great mug well worth the price and my new mug of choice.
