Unfortunately this unit does NOT support HD despite what the LED indicates. As you can see in the screenshots from the QualComm website and in the properties screen of my Win8 device, it supports the old aptX standard (no beautification) and not the new aptX HD standard. Disappointing because that too was key in the years to come. You get some improvement in fidelity, but nowhere near HD standards or what you'd get with a wired connection. I'll keep looking until I find a dongle that actually does what it promises until knowledgeable users have named it due to the lack of HD drivers. The great thing about this is that QualComm's aptX HD and LL (Low Latency) silicon works with fast real-time audio compression and is pretty close to an open standard at the moment. (Sony has greater bandwidth, no BlueTooth compression, but it's entirely proprietary). They also MUST have an aptX HD BlueTooth receiver for real-time decompression or the system won't work, but they're cheap too. I bought a Boltune BT-BA-001 and they work great together. I wish I could tell you how the lights work, but I figured it out after taking an hour to get the device back to green last night. that I don't really know. This transmitter appears to change color depending on the mode requested by the receiver, except for pairing, which you can set up. Otherwise, mode colors are STRONGLY passive and will respond to whatever mode your receiver requests. Receivers etc when you plug them back in they sync in the right mode and it's really BEAUTIFUL! You will learn to love green :)
