what the heck are you thinking

Like many other reviewers, I scratch my head and wonder why a manufacturer took a simple, popular product that was used successfully by millions and redesigned it has to make it almost useless. One of the wooden "arms" needs to be able to be raised to allow the gate to adjust its width to the desired size, then it needs to be lowered and snapped onto the sides of the opening. Of course, this will not happen if you attach both wooden handles to each other with the new "bulk clip". New gates are not "pressure locked”. It cannot securely close the sides of the opening and stay upright on its own. I gave it a star because the gate itself is a good size and if you can put it up somewhere you can create what looks like a barrier. Otherwise, the child or dog will have to support it to stay in place. I have high hopes that I will be able to dismantle the old faulty gate and remove the bracket from it to redesign the new gate as Evenflo forgot how to do it. You have to stop the madness.

Pros
