Review on πŸ”Œ POLLAK 12-711U 7-Way Trailer Connector Mounting Bracket - Right Angle Design by Bryan Hill

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Used to attach my new tow strap (99 Ford F-350) - works great

I recently replaced my old 7 way tow strap with a new one: https://www.amazon.com /gp /product/B001GBGA0GI wanted to reuse the old bracket but it was too small to drill new holes as they didn't line up. I tried but it just didn't work. Luckily I found this bracket and as far as I could tell the holes matched this harness so I went ahead and ordered it. When it arrived I was pleased to see that they really did line up perfectly, no drilling required. I used the nuts and bolts that came with this bracket to attach the seat belts, nice and tight, no problem. I should probably go back and put some blue threadlock on them just in case. The mount also came with a couple of self-tapping screws, but because I wanted to make sure the connection between the mount and the truck was secure, I drilled the existing holes a bit more and used the stainless steel nuts and bolts I had for these Connection. Much sturdier I think, and less likely to have a rusty screw (or two) cause my wiring to drag on the floor if the brace breaks out. The bolts would probably be fine, but I've had bad experiences with a rusted bolt in a very similar place (on my trailer) so I'm just not taking any chances now. Overall I'm happy with the setup and I like this new mount a lot more than the rusty, warped one I had before so it worked.

Pros
  • good thing
