This small piercing set works very well. I like that it basically works like a stapler. All you have to do is position and slide it together. The hairpin preloaded in the gun has a point that allows it to pierce through cartilage. Fast, easy and mostly painless. I like that the design of the gun prevents the bolt from catching in the septum, which can sometimes happen when using only a piercing needle. If you have a sensitive nose, inserting the rounded end of a piercing gun into your nose is very inconvenient. It was so ticklish I had a hard time sitting still because of the gun and then I felt too squeamish to really squeeze it. However, my daughter had no problems. If you save the small parts that hold the stud in place, you can sterilize everything and reuse it for a second piercing. It's much easier and cheaper than doing it professionally with these little kits, and the result will be just as good. My daughter got a nose piercing right after receiving the kit and it has healed very well. She doesn't care about the jewelry that goes with it. The gems are really tiny and she said the nose stud was uncomfortable to wear. She prefers nose rings or larger stones. I'm sure it's just a personal preference. The price is only good for 2 piercing guns so the jewelry is really just a bonus.
