I am impressed! on computer speakers

I was worried they wouldn't fit enough on a desk with the 10 x 12 inch rule. I was originally going to get the YU4 speakers but I'm glad I didn't because there are many extras I wouldn't use (like bluetooth etc) that come at a price. For my purposes I wanted to use the pre-out from my Schiit Hel so I can switch between listening to music and movies in 2.1 mode and using a Sennheiser Game One headphone/microphone for gaming. It all works very well. I connected them to a Polk PSW10, great combination. Overall, the sound quality is much better than a typical computer speaker system. They also get really LOUD while still holding it together. Part of this may be due to the pre out coming from my Schiit Hel and running at a high gain level. With all of this, my average listening volume on the speakers is 3 bars over half, and my Hel volume pot is 1/3. They might even fit in your TV's 2.1 sound system if you have a similarly sized room. I expected to be disappointed but I'm impressed! It's also a good thing since at $170 they aren't necessarily cheap. Desired improvements: 1. Subwoofer output and high/low pass filter - The subwoofer output does not let the PSW10's low pass filter work, which is disappointing but the usual lack of functionality when dealing with powered speakers. The speakers themselves also lack a high-pass filter option, which would be great considering they're advertised with a built-in DAC and subwoofer. So I want the onboard DAC/amp to have a high pass filter switch for the speakers and a low pass filter switch for the subwoofer output. The digital input is old-fashioned USB. The USB digital input is an old-fashioned style only found on older home theaters and printers. I wish they could at least upgrade to micro USB or optical input. It's ok, since I don't use it, you just have to get a fancy cable (or use the one that comes with the kit)3. Speaker Stands - Too bad they just didn't bring speaker stands that are overpriced at $30. I recommend you buy these for a desktop setup as they are very helpful in reducing resonance and energy absorption from the table surface. They also route the tweeters well into my ear canals. Blue light - honestly why do people still put that on speakers. The piercing blue light from the front is now covered with a piece of black tape. I want it to be either a lot darker or red or a little less intense to the human eye. Or nothing at all, which is pretty obvious when they have power and music comes out of them! All in all, if you're looking for a good desktop speaker, I think you'll be very happy with it!
