I bought the Barista Warrior coffee press because of the insulated design. Unlike some similar products, this device is a real double wall with no seams or screws on the inside. The device feels heavy and sturdy and keeps the coffee hot for at least 90 minutes. The thermometer isn't very useful, as it doesn't show readings until you're submerged in water, but it does track how hot the coffee is when you come back for a second or third cup. I have found that after 60-90 minutes the coffee cools down to around 140 degrees but still feels hot to the touch. After just a week there were already a few scratches on the inner surface from the metal edges of the piston and I expect there will be more of them over time. For me, the first two cups I pour are usually free of coffee grounds, but the last cup often has a few airborne particles in it (but not so much that they bother). I've used glass carafe coffee presses in the past and have always been disappointed with how quickly the coffee cools; This Barista Warrior has solved this problem. If you're putting off your first cup and want your coffee to be hot when you come back for another, buy the Barista Warrior.
