As for the potato peeler, my favorite is still the old one we had, probably 40 years old. View with open handle and pivoting carbon steel blade. This Leifheit knife is great for peeled foods like oranges and other citrus fruits! For thick-skinned foods, the blade has wider holes that allow you to make deeper cuts and get as much skin as you want. The fixed blade doesn't pivot, which I find helpful when peeling thick-skinned oranges, etc. Great for potatoes but my 40 year old peeler still works best for me for the job. I'm probably used to the swiveling blade from an old potato peeler. This potato peeler looks great and being stainless steel it should last a long time. It also looks like the blade should be easy to sharpen. I was going to give it about 4 1/2 stars, counting down a bit because it's not as good as our old knife, but I'm thinking between 4 and 5 stars. 5 is more appropriate.
