I can't imagine getting started with this scanner could be easier. Everything you need is included (I even had a microchip in my order!). Much better value than any other handheld scanner I've reviewed. I find it works better than the competition and costs less. I use a genealogy scanner and can copy library and museum documents much more efficiently than ever before. The JPEG feature is perfect as you can edit, adjust, flip and convert the image to text as you wish. If you need a portable scanner, this is the one for you!
