The Blue Sea USB socket is easy to install, durable and corrosion resistant. It is designed to be mounted on a floor panel, not on a weather-exposed console. The rubber flap seals and keeps out splashes but I wouldn't trust it in very wet conditions and if it's not closed properly any amount of seawater will ruin it. Fast charging is automatically enabled for the devices that are configured to start. It charges my iPhone from zero to 100% in just over an hour and my iPad in about 2 hours. Other devices that don't boot into fast charge mode are much slower; For example, I have a Bluetooth speaker that takes 4 or 5 hours to charge. Its size is perfect for fitting into a standard AC wall outlet or cigarette lighter outlet hole, or you can use the included mounting frame. Anywhere I need USB charging, I just use the Blue Sea outlet; So far I have 4 of these on my 2 boats and I intend to install more.
