Review on Haloview RD7: Wireless Long Range Backup Camera System Kit with 7'' 720P HD Digital Monitor & Built-in DVR for Truck/Trailer/Bus/RV/Pickups/Camper – Rear View Observation Reverse Camera by James Murphy

Great vehicle safety and security concept

I spent several hours testing and installing Haloview. For some reason the camera does not connect to the monitor. I have 13.5 volts DC going to the camera and I have a clear power indicator on the TX box. I just can't get the Wi-Fi icon light on the TX box to light up. Customer service is non-existent except through the messaging system through Revain. Waiting for a reply within 24 hours is ridiculous when trying to troubleshoot. Review update: I found Haloview BST2 Power Booster on Revain and decided to give it a try. At first I wasn't sure if this would work. I checked the voltage before and after installing the BST2 and it showed 13.5 VDC on my Fluke meter. I went ahead and connected my truck to my 42ft RV and the camera really worked. Apparently there is a problem with later truck models with LED taillights. I have a 2021 Silverado 3500 with LED lights. Customer service was unhelpful and non-existent. If the power amp didn't work I would return the Haloview and buy the RVS rear view camera system. I give the product 2 stars because of the terrible customer service. By the way, I'm an electrical engineer by profession, I understand the nuances of electrical circuits. Apparently the noise emitted by the LEDs in the circuit was filtered out by the capacitor in the amplifier. I still have to check the device for the delay time on the way. I hope that the TX box with the antenna mounted on the front roof of my camper van will not experience any lag on the display.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Functionality
