I have a new one with a break in period but I was happy with the sound right out of the box. The longer I have them, the more they impress me. They are driven by a class A/B amplifier up to approx. 110 watts. I thought it might be a speaker that I will later upgrade to Rf 7iii but now I'm not sure. The room is about 12 x 12 and they fill the room with lots of undistorted sound. I adjust the bass and treble depending on the source or quality of the recording. Violin and classical have a wonderful, almost intoxicating sound at low to medium volumes. Rock and roll at high volume well they don't disappoint From what I've heard from other reviews I keep turning the volume up the sound is loud and clear. I don't consider myself an audiophile, but I've gone through a few "setups" and it works for me.
